Comal County Sheriff’s Office
January 31, 2007

Canyon Lake, TX
Burglary of a Habitation
C07- 01- 1780

The owner of a second home in the 100 block of Fawn Drive, in the Canyon Lake subdivision of Canyon Springs Resort, discovered the burglary of that home on 1-19-2007. She had last been at the residence on 12-25-2006.

The residence was described as totally “trashed”; in that items were thrown about, drawers dumped out on the floor, pictures torn from the walls, etc… Found on the floor were several US flags and a Marine Corps flag. Clothes were taken from the closets and thrown on the floor. The beds and furniture were moved and in disarray. It is obvious the actors spent some time in the residence, and may have made several trips to carry off the stolen items.

Taken were clothing, military memorabilia, jewelry, TV/DVD combo, electric guitar and amplifier, a drum set, hand- made quilt, luggage, stereo equipment, VHS and DVD movies, tools, USMC ivory handled dagger, claymore sword, and miscellaneous items.

What is significant in this case is that the items stolen were the property of the victims’ son, who was killed in action in Iraq, while serving his country in the service of the US Marine Corps. The item dearest to this grieving mother was two US government ceremonial coins, issued to the families of those fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
